Ron Nelson

Board Member, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre

Ron received his Masters of Science in Industrial Administration at the Kranner Graduate School of Management, Purdue University and began his career as an Industrial Engineer and foreman at General Motors of Canada, Oshawa. Ron was a professor in Business Administration at Lakehead University for over 30 years, specializing in Operations Management with emphasis on Management and Implementation of Quality. He was also the Director of the School of Business Administration from 1985 to 1990.

Ron is a member of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada, conducting seminars across Canada in Management and Control of Inventory. He is also a Board Member of the Certified Management Accountants of Ontario, contributing to the update of the CMA Handbook in the forestry and mining sectors.

Ron is also an active member of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, Thunder Bay Symphony Youth Orchestra, Thunder Bay Yacht Club and The Magnus Theatre.
